Townsend Writing Coaching provides academic writing coaching and support to writers in higher education, focusing on graduate and postgraduate writers needing a professional coach with deep expertise, compassion, and most importantly, someone who has been there.
Pricing & Scheduling Options
Pricing is simple: $150/hour. You create an appointment pattern that works for you. Use one of the suggested scheduling patterns or create your own. Not sure how many sessions you might need? We can explore it together and take it one session at a time. I don’t lock you into packages or long-term commitments.
Coaching
project-based coaching
Work with me to create a coaching schedule around your writing project’s due date and benchmarks. Coaching sessions occur when you need them. Includes email support between sessions.
Weekly coaching
Improve your writing with a coaching session each week, with email support from your coach between sessions.
intensive weekly coaching
If you want to work more intensively, consider meeting with your coach 2 or more times per week to create a tighter work-feedback loop and see results more quickly.
Term-based Coaching
Spend the whole term working closely with a supportive writing coach, maximizing your writing craft, emotional mindset, and productivity with regular and ongoing coaching sessions that delve into the work you’re doing throughout the term.
Editing
pricing
I take on editing projects as my time allows; typically I can turn around a full dissertation in less than a week. Pricing is $.026/word (2.6 cents/word).
I am currently not taking editing jobs for Spring 2023.
suggested timing
I am happy to edit projects of any size—term papers, theses, dissertations, and non-academic writing projects and manuscripts. For academic projects, the most strategic time to use this service is immediately before submission, after revisions. Most of my clients use my editing service just before proposal and final defense, or just after final defense to prepare the document for submission to the university’s thesis center or library.
